Overview

Padah Lin consists of combined lots grown by Danu and Pa-O hill-tribe smallholder farmers across 16 villages in the remote mountainous area of Ywangan, southern Shan state, Myanmar.

It makes a delightful, delicate yet uncomplicated filter brew with good balance of acidity and sweetness. Delicious as a flat white, too.

Origin

This exceptional coffee is produced by Mandalay Coffee Group (MCG) and consists of combined daily lots grown by predominantly Danu and some Pa-O hill-tribe smallholder farmers in the remote mountainous area of Ywangan, Southern Shan state, Myanmar. 1 For this season, MCG worked with over 50 smallholder farmers, each of whom cultivates approximately 0.25-3 acres of land, with coffee plants intercropped with a variety of produce such as avocados, jackfruit, papaya, macadamia and djenkol beans.

The Artefact Specification

We spent the last year rebuilding this roastery from the ground up because the traditional 'artisanal' approach wasn't giving us the consistency we demanded. We’ve replaced intuition with Precision Science—transitioning to data-driven roasting and 100% paper-stream recyclable materials. At Artefact, we don’t guess. We measure.
